What should I wear on a canoe tour?

For the canoe tour, we recommend comfortable, weatherproof clothing that’s fine to get wet. Here are a few tips to help you choose:

  • Tops: Ideally sporty and breathable. In the sun, a light long-sleeved shirt for sun protection. In cooler weather, a fleece jacket or rain jacket.
  • Pants: Shorts or quick-drying pants work well. Jeans are a bad choice because they get very heavy when wet.
  • Shoes: Sturdy, closed shoes that can get wet, for example old sneakers or water shoes. No flip-flops or sandals without a heel strap!
  • Sun protection: Sun hat or cap, sunscreen and, if you like, sunglasses with a retainer strap.
  • Change of clothes: For after the tour, leave dry clothes and a towel in your car.

Tip: Even in good weather, water can splash into the boat, so it’s best to expect that you won’t stay completely dry.
