Important booking information
By booking you accept our terms. For guided tours with a fixed date there is no statutory right of withdrawal (Section 312g (2) No. 9 of the German Civil Code, BGB). Our scaled cancellation policy applies instead (see terms and withdrawal notice).
Rur season: due to nature-conservation rules, Rur tours can only be booked from July 15 to February 28. The Heimbach Reservoir is available year-round.
Maximum flexibility: with Stornoflex (€4.90 reservoir · €9.90 Rur, per person) you get the full tour price back if you cancel up to 48 h before the tour. The Stornoflex fee itself is non-refundable. Just add it when booking.
If we have to cancel: in case of safety-relevant weather, critical water levels or too few participants, you choose freely: money back, voucher or free rebooking.

Do I need prior canoeing experience? +
No! All of our guided tours are suitable for beginners, you get a detailed briefing from our experienced guides before the tour.
Requirements: confident swimming ability (Bronze level, at least 20 minutes without aids, applies to children too), sober (no alcohol/drugs) and physically fit for moderate physical activity.
Minimum age: Heimbach Reservoir from 7 years, the Rur from 9 years, each accompanied by an adult, swimming-capable supervisor in the same boat. Independently (unsupervised) from 14 years with parental consent.

What do I need to bring on the tour? +
A change of clothes, sun protection and waterproof footwear (e.g. water shoes). Canoe, paddle, life jacket and helmet are provided by us. You should take valuables in a waterproof bag. → Full answer
Can I cancel or rebook? +
Yes, on a sliding scale: Up to 60 days before the tour 100 % money back, up to 14 days a voucher for the full amount (valid 24 months), after that a staggered cancellation fee.
Maximum flexibility: With the Stornoflex option (4,90 € Reservoir · 9,90 € Rur per person) you get the full tour price back for any reason if you cancel up to 48 h before the tour (the Stornoflex surcharge itself is forfeited), just add it when booking.
Rebooking: 15 € per person (max. 60 € per booking).
If we have to cancel the tour due to weather, you get the full price back.
For closed groups (companies, school classes, clubs) a separate cancellation scale applies, details in the terms and conditions.

How long does a canoe tour take? +
Our guided tours on the Rur take about 4 to 5 hours including the briefing and return transfer. The Reservoir tour is a bit shorter and especially family-friendly. Details depending on the tour selection in the booking system. → More questions & answers
Are there special rates for large groups? +
Yes! For companies, school classes and clubs we offer closed groups with their own guide at a flat rate:
• Rur: 936 € flat per guide unit (up to 18 people)
• Heimbach Reservoir: 560 € base (up to 20 people), each additional person 28 €
For larger groups an additional guide unit is added (e. g. Rur 19 to 36 people = 2 units = 1.872 €).
