Is canoeing dangerous?
If you respect the water and stick to a few basic rules, canoeing with us is anything but dangerous! All participants get a life jacket right from the start (mandatory!) and a clear safety briefing, and they are always accompanied by an experienced guide, whether on the Rur or on the Heimbach Reservoir.
Our routes have been specially chosen so that they’re suitable for beginners too. As long as you follow our team’s instructions and behave sensibly in the boat (and don’t secretly try to become an acrobat), you’re on the safe side.
As you can see, the biggest risk is actually that you’ll fall in love with canoeing afterwards! 😄
