Bachelor Party in the Eifel: A Canoe Tour That Truly Bonds

A bachelor party in the Eifel with Kanu Petry is the answer to the classic NRW stag do that too often ends in a pub crawl. We organize your party completely: boats, life jackets, briefing, certified guides and the right tour for your group. Whether a bachelorette party on the calm Heimbach Reservoir in four-seater canoes or a bachelor party on the Rur with flowing-water action, we scale from 6 people up to large groups.

Our waters lie in the middle of the Eifel National Park, between Heimbach and Zerkall. From Cologne, Aachen or Düsseldorf you reach us in 45 to 60 minutes, yet it feels like another world. Hengebach Castle by the water, the Art Nouveau power station of Heimbach as the local landmark, horses on the banks and the occasional beaver. Exactly the right setting for stories still told after the wedding, instead of gaps in your memory.

What sets us apart from pub-crawl providers: alcohol is off-limits before and during the tour for safety reasons (terms § 4.4). If you want to celebrate, you can do that on land after the tour, there's plenty of room for it. If you want a real experience, you paddle first. That's the difference between a bachelor-party blackout and a bachelor-party memory.

What Groups Say About Us

★★★★★
Group · Teamwork

We booked a tour as a company outing. Wolfgang made the dry-land practice relaxed and entertaining. Out on the water it was fun and engaging, and the short talk about the beavers fascinated me. The exercises showed how important teamwork and communication are. All in all a wonderful experience.

Great service, fantastic staff and a beautiful setting at the reservoir in Heimbach. Our event in the four-seater kayaks was varied, fun and perfectly organized. Many thanks to Kanu Petry for this great experience.

Group · ages 9 to 50

We had a blast canoeing on the Heimbach reservoir. Huge praise to Dastin. Ages ranged from 9 to 50 and everyone was thrilled. The team-building tasks in particular were perfectly explained and a complete success, they really strengthened our bond. We'll definitely be back.

Frequently asked questions

Everything You Want to Know Before You Inquire

What is the minimum group size for a bachelor party?

Small groups are welcome too. But note: for a private group our flat tour rate stays the same, so the price per person is somewhat higher than in an open group. Just write to us with your group size and we'll send you a suitable offer.

Does really everyone need to be able to swim?

Yes. Every participant must be able to stay afloat for 20 minutes without aids (bronze level). We provide life jackets, but they do not replace swimming ability. Details.

What happens in rain or thunderstorms?

Light rain is no reason to cancel, canoeing is an outdoor activity. In case of thunderstorms or high water we cancel. You choose between a full refund, a voucher or rebooking. More on this.

What does it cost per person?

At the Heimbach Reservoir €28 per person (€560 base rate for up to 20 people, €28 for each additional person). On the Rur as a private group €936 flat per guide unit for up to 18 people, which is about €52 per head at full capacity. Concrete quote via the inquiry form.

Can we bring alcohol?

No. For safety reasons, alcohol is strictly prohibited before and during the tour (terms § 4.4). This explicitly includes the popular sparkling-wine breakfast in the morning, a toast before launching is not possible. After the tour, back on land, you're free to celebrate: there are barbecue spots and pubs in Heimbach. Our guides will exclude participants who smell of alcohol or show poor coordination, without refund. Background.

How far is it from Cologne, Aachen or Düsseldorf?

Heimbach lies in the middle of the northern Eifel. From Aachen about 45 minutes, from Cologne and Düsseldorf around 60 minutes each. You can also arrive on the Rurtalbahn railway from Düren.

Which tour for women, men or mixed groups?

In our experience, bachelorette groups love the calm reservoir with four-seater canoes (a shared boat, lots of conversation). Men's groups often want action on the Rur (flowing water, capsizing possible). Mixed groups choose by mood. We're happy to advise you in the inquiry.

Can we add more people later?

If needed and subject to availability, you can add more people anytime, even at short notice, by arrangement. Just drop us a quick line.
